The Power Of Touch

What is the first thing you when your child bumps their knee or hits their head? You rub it or cradle the area. The same applies when you hurt yourself. The power of touch is an amazing tool that we too often forget. It has both psychological and physiological benefits. Massage has developed over thousands of years from ancient China to present day Europe. It has been used for the promotion and restoration of health worldwide and I’m going to let you in on what it does for your mind AND your body!

Boosts immunity and improves muscle suppleness.

Improves neural communication and relaxes the nervous system.

Can lower high blood pressure and relieve insomnia.

Speeds up digestion and can be beneficial for some digestive problems.

The psychological effects of massage are endless. It relaxes the body and so reduces tension and stress. This is such an important benefit, as I mentioned in my previous post, 75% of diseases and disorders are caused by stress. Massage gives a “lift” to the emotions and increases feelings of positivity. The power of touch through massage improves body image, awareness and general self-esteem. Also helps increase energy levels and improve your overall sense of well-being.
