I find it really hard finding a tan, that has an intense colour but also has benefits for the skin and doesn’t wear off horribly like most tans.Well, I think my search is over. As I’m a beauty therapist, I’m obsessed with skincare, so for me, it’s all about looking after our skin FIRST! I’ve been using Karora Bronzing Express Mousse in shade medium/dark for the last few weeks and it ticks all the right boxes for me. AND there’s no nasty smell!!!
. I’m always rushing and under pressure for time, so the fact this dries so quickly is a HUGE bonus for me. It applies seamlessly and for that flawless finish I’d highly recommend a tanning mitt. I used the one from “Glove Your Body.” Full review on that, here => Do you “glove” your body???.
The brilliant thing about this mousse is that it continues to develop even after you shower. You can leave it on for 1, 2 or 3 hours, depending on the intensity you’re looking for. Personally, I like to leave on over night and shower next day. It hydrates your skin, due to the amazing ingredients of jojoba, argan, bergamot, aloe vera and rosemary. Argan and jojoba are super nourishing, whereas aloe vera soothes and hydrates! Rosemary and Bergamot give the tan it’s lovely fresh scent! Music to my ears! Below is how my tan developed. L-R; Before, 2 hours later, 8 hours later.
Since I started using it people have been asking me what tan I’m wearing and I’m after getting so many compliments on it. The flash in the above pictures really drowned the instensity of the colour, so below are some images in natural daylight. It’s flawless and skin is hydrated too! It doesn’t wear away patchy AT ALL!!!
The key to getting the most from your tan is body moisturising daily, after your shower. This will keep the upper layers of your skin nourished, preventing those horrible patches. With some tans, however, you can do all the right things and it still goes patchy, but not with Karora. Tan prepping is also very important. It’s all about your skin! Before you apply your tan =>
1. Dry body brush before your shower.
2. Use an exfoliating glove in the shower
3. Apply moisturiser to dry areas of your body like, ankles, knees, elbows and wrists.
4.Always apply coconut oil or a cuticle cream to your finger/toenails, this will protect them from getting stained.
Karora Cosmetics is available in Sam McCauleys’s or online here => karoracosmetics.com. They have everything from cc creams, instant tans, to gradual tans, there’s something for everyone. The Express Bronzing Mousse that I use costs 36 euro, which is more in the upper price range for tans, but because it gives me such a flawless looking tan, I think it’s worth it. I’m looking forward to trying their instant and gradual tans, definitely next on my list to try out. What do you look for in a tan??? Let me know. All my contact details are below.
