Ultra Pure Laboratories Skincare – Simplicity at it’s Finest

Ultra Pure Laboratories is a brand I came across during the summer and I fell in love with it’s simplistic approach to packaging and the ingredients they put in their products. They are a family run Irish company based in the West of Ireland and have been pioneering advances in clinically proven products for generations. Their mission is to give us the purest ingredients in products that are highly effective, even for the most sensitive of skins.

They have a fantastic range of products and I tried their Rosewater Toner, Witch Hazel Toner, Almond Oil and Pure Coconut Oil and found each one to be very effective. Contain no harmful chemicals, synthetic fragrances, which is a huge plus for me.

1. Rose Water Toner

Toning your skin can be done after you cleanse, after an exfoliation or mask. It helps close pores and different toners have different effects. This Rosewater Toner is suited to normal/combination/mature skin and can be applied with a cotton disc all over the face. Rosewater is a fantastic ingredient. It helps cool and soothe sensitive and irritated skin, while at the same time, it balances and cleanses oily skin. For mature skin it has a rejuvenating, softening and toning effect. It has natural anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. A brilliant all rounder toner that doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry and stripped. After using this, I did notice it gave my skin a lovely, healthy glow.

2.Witch Hazel Toner

For centuries witch hazel has been used to treat oily, congested skin conditions. It is a natural astringent, which means it helps remove excess oil from the skin. It is used to treat acne, blemishes, hormonal breakouts because it speeds up the healing process. It helps reduce large pores, which is very common among oily skins, as well as reducing the redness that accompanies spots/breakouts. I would suggest this product only be used on breakouts/spots/acne and not all over the face, because you don’t want to dry out the skin by using it on areas unnecessarily. I suffer with the occasional breakout on my chin, and this product came to the rescue. I applied to the breakout every morning and night before my moisturiser and it definitely sped up the healing time, helping me to get rid of the breakout much faster than if I used nothing. I would highly recommend this for people suffering with oily skin conditions, like acne or who, like me, suffer with the occasional breakout.

3.Almond Oil

I am a beauty and body therapist with the last 10 years and Almond Oil is my favourite base to use for all my massages. It is super nourishing and softening on the skin, just make sure you aren’t allergic to nuts before using. A brilliant use for this at home is to make your own natural face scrub by mixing fine sugar with the oil. It’s great for gently dislodging dirt and debris from deep within the pores and can help prevent future breakouts because of the high content of Vitamin A. Vitamin A is a powerful anti-oxidant and plays a critical role in maintaining healthy skin. Like all antioxidants, it reduces inflammation by fighting against free radical damage. You could also use it at home for facial massage. Massage your skin for 10-15 mins in small circular motions in an upward direction. Regular facial massage helps drain toxins out of the skin, increases circulation and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Massage will have your skin looking brighter and dark circles and puffiness will be greatly reduced. It’s my favourite part of any facial and a step I would never leave out.

4.Pure Coconut Oil

If someone asked me what one beauty product I couldn’t live without, my answer would be coconut oil!!! Always look out for 100% pure coconut oil, like the one from UltraPure. I adore it, I just hope they bring out a bigger jar! It has so many uses for our skin, hair and nails and every home should have it. It smells divine too!!! Coconut Oil comes in a solid form, so i put some in a bowl and place the bowl in a pot of hot water to melt it. Here are my favourite uses for it

  • Facial Cleanser – Melts away every scrap of makeup, even gel liner
  • Facial Mask – Leave on for 20 mins, wash off with a warm cloth. Deeply nourishes.
  • Night Serum – Apply a thin layer before bed. High in Vitamin E, protects collagen and elastin fibres
  • Hair Mask – Apply to dry hair, leave for 20 mins, to remove, double shampoo is needed. Leaves hair silky smooth and super sleek
  • Body Moisturiser – I have yet to find a better body moisturiser than coconut oil! It penetrates into the layers of the skin deeper than any other oil, making it incredible in fighting cellulite, stretch marks and scars.
  • Cuticle Oil – Massage into cuticles of the nails to soften before pushing back
  • Foot Balm – I love massaging into feet. Helps dry cracked heels and its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties make it the perfect foot balm.
