Fight dehydration, sensitivity and redness with Declaré Skincare

A couple of months back I attended a Declaré Skincare Event in Delany’s Waterford. you can read all about it here if you missed my blog post on it => Declaré’s Skincare Event in Delany’s Pharmacy. The lovely Karen Dempsey, a skincare specialist with Declaré, was down for one day, carrying out complementary skin analysis. Now it wasn’t your run of the mill skin analysis under a magnifying lamp…Karen used a very specialised camera that magnified your skin 50 times!!! It was amazing and I learned loads.

Some of my skin issues were dehydration, redness and sensitivity. Soon after the event I began my brand new skincare routine using all Declaré and what a difference it made to my lines and hydration levels. I started using their Cleansing Milk, Hydro Intensive Mask, Meditation Cream and Detox Cream. I loved them all but the stand out product for me was the Hydro Intensive Mask…it has done wonders for my skin.

1. Cleansing Milk (€19.95)

I have dry, dehydrated skin so I instantly fell in love with this cleansing milk because it has a creamy consistency but not too heavy. If you’re like me, and have dry, dehydrated skin, it’s important to use creamy cleansers rather than foaming cleansers, as they tend to dry out the skin. You pour a little into your hand and massage into the skin for about 2 minutes and then remove with a warm cloth. It removed my makeup effortlessly and didn’t leave my skin feeling stripped and this is because it’s designed to leave our skin’s natural balance undisturbed . One of Suzanne Jackson’s must haves and I can see why. Perfect for anyone who suffers with sensitivity because it’s main ingredient is linden extract which has anti-inflammatory properties

2. Hydro Intensive Mask (€29.95)

Love, love, love this mask!!! Honestly, the best mask I have ever used for dehydration and fine lines. And this is so common this time of year, due to central heating, the fire etc sucking moisture out of our skin. This mask is for use on all skin types, even oily. Just because you’re oily doesn’t mean you can’t be dehydrated as well. Dehydrated skin is due to lack of water, dry skin is due to lack of oil, and oily skin is due to excess oil. This mask is so easy to use, apply a layer all over face, avoiding eyes and lips and leave on for 15 minutes, then remove with a warm cloth. It instantly plumped out my fine lines, which are often caused by dehydration. This mask is like giving your skin a big drink of water and a nutrient shot all in one. It contains algae extract and camomile extract and so, it’s packed full of anti-oxidants leaving your skin feeling super soft and silky. If you follow me on Snapchat (sarahdwan1) you’ll know my love for the ingredient HYALURONIC ACID…it’s vital and this mask has it. Hyaluronic acid is a humenctant, this means it attracts and retains moisture in the skin. It is a key ingredient in fighting dehydration. I used this mask twice a week and sometimes I even leave it over night, after seeing on Marissa Carter’s Snapchat that’s how she uses it. Fantastic for helping to reduce redness because of the soothing and cooling effects it has on the skin. Love it!!!

3. Skin Meditation Cream (€39.50)

I was eager to get the Skin Meditation Cream on my face because studies with this product have shown that after 28 days of use sensitivity is reduced by 70%. It can be used day and night but I used it as my day cream. It protects the skin against external factors and stressors and builds up it’s resistance to irritating substances. I did notice a difference in my redness and sensitivity and my skin was left feeling deeply nourished. It contains calendula extract, which has powerful moisturising and soothing qualities as well as being anti-inflammatory. Also contains allantoin, which stimulates cell regeneration, increases your skin’s own healing ability and stimulates the growth of healthy tissues. What I love about this cream is that even though it’s for sensitive skin, it still packs a punch with it’s nutrient rich ingredients.

4. Detox Night Cream (€39.50)

The Detox Night Cream is incredibly luxurious. It has a gorgeous feel to it and just melts so nicely into the skin. This isn’t surprising when macadamia nut oil, coconut oil, and shea butter are on its ingredients list. These three ingredients are known for their super nourishing and protective qualities. Also contains hyaluronic acid, so will fight fine lines and dehydration. Magnolia extracts protect and strengthen collagen and elastin fibres, making it anti-aging. Bursting full of anti-oxidants, Vitamin C and E, it protects and detoxifies. Everything you could ever need for a night cream.

A product I’m dying to try from them is their Essential Eye Lifting Serum, it reduces existing lines and wrinkles and combats dark circles as well as strengthen the skin around the delicate eye area and can even be used on the eyelids. Have you ever used it? Let me know if you have.

I really fell in love with this brand and I would highly and happily recommend it. Even though Declaré speicialises in skin sensitivity, that doesn’t mean you are going to miss out on powerful ingredients and lasting effects. They have products to suit everyone, any age and any skin type. If you ever come across their skin analysis event, book yourself in and find out exactly what your skin needs. If you know of a chemist that stocks Declaré pop in and have a chat with the girls behind the counter and they will be able to help you find what you’re looking for. Delany’s Pharmacy stocks it here in Waterford and Laura O’Neill will be able to help you out with recommendations. if you’re not from Waterford just Google search your nearist stockists.

As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch through any of the ways below.

Love the Skin You’re In.
