Tan Organic – The World’s First Certified Organic Tan
I fell in love with Tan Organic a few months ago when I first tried their Multi-Use Dry Oil…it is incredible and, can be used for so many things, from a body moisturiser and overnight face serum to cuticle oil and as an addition to your foundation to make it more dewy. You can read my top ways to use it here => Tan Organic’s Arganic Brings Out Your Inner Beauty the Natural Way I am all for trying to reduce the amount of chemicals we out into and onto our bodies, so the fact Tan Organic is CERTIFIED ORGANIC, is a huge plus for me. Now, a lot of brands will claim their products are “natural” and “organic” but often this isn’t the case. More often that not, it’s only DERIVED from a natural ingredient. Vodka is derived from potatoes, would you call that 100% organic? Nope!
Cancer is a major concern and almost everybody knows at least one person who has been affected by this, of which they are over 200 different types. And most scientists agree 80% are caused by toxic chemicals. Even more worrying is that the average woman applies 175 chemicals to her body each day in the form of cosmetics and chemicals. Think about it, your cleanser, toner, moisturiser, shampoo, perfume, soap and even your toothpaste. If you would like to learn more about chemicals in your cosmetics you can read all about it in my two part blog post here => The Ugly Truth About the Beauty Industry: Part One and The Ugly truth About the Beauty Industry: Part Two
The Where
I was invited to Tan Organic’s Press Launch by Clemence Vicini, part of the Tan Organic Team. I’m still a relatively new blogger, so I was absolutely thrilled and humbled to be invited. It was on in Churchtown House, Sweetmount Avenue, Dundrum and my God, the house and grounds were magnificent. I left my house in Waterford that morning at 9.30am …a bus, two taxis and a train later I arrived for the event, which was kicking of at 2.30pm. It was worth the trip!!!
The Who
At the event it was announced that Rosanna Davison, was now the brand ambassador for Tan Organic and they really couldn’t have chosen a better person. Rosanna is a qualified nutritional therapist, a model, published author and winner of Miss World 2003. With winning this title she travelled all around the world working with many Irish and International brands and she learned a lot about health and her relationship with food and body image.
She believes, “Food must certainly be delicious, affordable and simple to prepare, but it should also work hard to nourish each and every cell in our body. I firmly believe that food must be used to help us reach our healthiest, strongest and most beautiful selves, and it should never harm us.” She encourages a healthy choices regards food, skincare and body care and is a fantastic role model for women of all ages. A perfect fit for Tan Organic. She was an absolute natural speaking on stage and, afterwards she mingled with everyone, got in pictures and answered every question she was asked. She gave everybody at the event the time of day, and it was refreshing to see someone as successful and stunning as her have no notions about herself…she is so down to earth and approachable.

The Products
We were gifted with Tan Organic’s Exfoliating Mitt, Tanning Glove, Multi-use Dry Oil, Tanning Oil and Tanning Lotion and I can’t wait to use them. The Tan Organic Line all smell beautiful, and are easy to apply. The fact they don’t have any nasty chemicals and instead are full of nourishing oils means not only will you get a healthy natural deep tan but you’re skin is benefiting too. And anyone that has been following me for awhile, will know my obsession with skincare! As with anything I receive I will cover everything in a blog post after using for at least four weeks, and keep you posted on my Snapchat => sarahdwan1
Remember to look after the skin on your body just as much you do the skin on your face. In general, I recommend exfoliating and moisturising your body regularly, not only prior to tan.
My top tanning tips –
- 24 hours prior to tan application, shave and exfoliate in the shower, moisturise after.
- I like to use exfoliating mitts with my shower gel, this increases cell renewal making your skin smoother and silkier to touch. Removing dead skin cells in this way will ensure a flawless, non patchy tan application.
- day of tan, make sure you DO NOT SHAVE OR EXFOLIATE, it just makes the tan sit in your pores and make them more apparent.
- always apply tan with a mitt, starting at your ankles working your way up. I love tan Organic’s mitt because of the quality of the material used, it’s the best one I’ve ever used!
- After tan, wipe over the palms of your hands and nails with cotton pads soaked in any micellar water, just to be on the safe side.
Thank You
For my Waterford readers, Tan Organic is available in Mulligan’s Pharmacy. Huge thank you to Noelle O’Connor, Clemence Vincini and Caroline Lazarin for a fantastic event. I met some very talented people and I enjoyed every minute of it.
