Myself and Louise O’Neill, Owner of Tomitago Cosmetics

As some of you may or not know my full time career is as a body and beauty therapist and I make up one half of Re>Nu Treatment Rooms, which is located in The Tower Hotel, Waterford. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be now working with this amazing brand everyday.

Myself with the gorgeous Melissa Bagge, we both run Re>Nu Treatment Rooms together

I had invited in some of Waterford’s top bloggers, make up artists, hairdressers and snapchatters in to The Dunmore Room in The Tower Hotel to get a feel for the products, test them, smell them and hopefully by the end of the day they would all love them as much as I do. Some of them were camera shy, so I don’t have a photo of everyone who attended. Click on their names for their Facebook pages.

Bubbly and Food

6. Tomitago Launch

The Tower Hotel very kindly sponsored the bubbly, finger food and the venue. The Dunmore Room is a beautiful airy space that’s perfect for events like these, anniversarys, birthday parties etc. It has a capacity of 80 people for standing and a capacity of 50 people for seated events. I had set up about 90% of the room the night before with the help of porter Dave Lacey, and I have to say I thought it looked really well. I can’t thank all the staff in The Tower enough for all their help in the run up to the day, particularly Melissa, Sinead, Seamus, Deirdre, Patrick, Aine, Colleen, Anthony, Dave, and Danny!

Gobo Projection

3.2 Tomitago Launch

John O’Connor from Irish Entertainments provided me with something very special for the day, called Gobo Projection. It was the Tomitago logo projected onto the wall and it really gave that personalised feel to the whole event. It’s relatively new but I think it’s going to be huge for weddings, events and product launches. It can be designed to say anything you want, in any style with any font. Thank you so much John, I just loved it!!! So for example for your wedding, you could have Mr. and Mrs. >Insert Name Here<…such a beautiful idea! Have a look at his website for more info => irishentertainments.com or find him on Facebook here = > Irish Entertainments

Selfie Mirror

5. Tomitago Launch

The Sweet Events Selfie Mirror was  a HUGE hit with all my guests and was a real fun element to have on the day. It’s a huge mirror with gold trim, with a red carpet up to it, it’s own roped off area and lots of props to play around with!

5.1. Tomitago Launch

It takes your picture and prints it out there and then…I had each of the prints personalised to say “Tomitago at the Tower” and was a nice keepsake for everyone to bring away and remember. Fionnuala from Sweet Events was so lovely to deal with and I’ve no doubt she’s going to be super busy with weddings!

Cake and Flowers

1. Tomitago Launch

How stunning are these flowers and cake??? The cake is from Cherub Couture Cakes and the flowers were by Utopia Flowers.

The sugarcraft genius Anne Marie Cahill Byrne created for me a chocolate biscuit bottom with a raspberry top tier with lemon macaroons…it was unreal! The little cards with our logos were edible. And it, of course, tasted delicious!!! Huge thank you to Anne Marie. If you’re looking for that wow factor for your special occasion I wouldn’t go past her, she can design ANYTHING! Just have a look at her website and see for yourself => cherubcouturecakes.com Facebook here => Cherub Couture Cakes

Bernie, from Utopia Flowers put together a stunning arrangement for each of the tables. I was looking for something real natural and earthy, as that’s what Tomitago is, and Bernie knew exactly what I meant. She created a beautiful bouquet with lavender and roses as the focal point. It had the room smelling fabulous and worked really well with the natural theme, Tomitago even has Lavender in a lot of is products, so Bernie got it spot on.

1.3 Tomitago Launch

She also gave me flowers balls for the doorway in to the event and made for some really lovely photos. I can’t thank Bernie enough for everything. Utopia Flowers are the leading florists in the South East for weddings and big occasions, just have a look at their work here => utopiaflowers.com and their Facebook page is => Utopia Flowers

Speakers – Myself and Louise O’Neill

I welcomed everyone, and explained my love for Tomitago. I was beyond nervous for this event because I poured my heart and soul into it and wanted everyone to enjoy it and love the products as much as I do. I have a terrible fear of public speaking and to be honest I am better at writing than I am at speaking but I did it and was very proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone.

6.1

Tomitago is a brand I fell in love with last year for it’s quality, effectiveness and affordability. It’s a line of Irish handmade cosmetics that is packed full of anti-oxidants that are super nourishing and healing on the skin. Louise only uses the best and highest quality ingredients. All the products in the range smell absolutely gorgeous and if you’ve used them before you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about! I think every one should use them at least once, and when you do, you will never look back!!! All the products are so so concentrated, which means only a small amount is needed and that they will last your ages! If you would like to read more about the range have a read of my piece I did last year on the brand => Brand Focus: Tomitago Cosmetics – Home of the 5-in-1 Miracle Elixir

What I love most about Tomitago is that it is 100% CHEMICAL FREE!!! Worringly, women apply, on average, 175 chemicals onto their body each day and a lot of them are absorbed through the skin. I am always on the search for ways to reduce this number and using Tomitago is a great way to do it! I shared with everybody my 3 favourite products from the range which are the Cleansing oil, Combi and Elixir! I did a special offer on the day and sold all 3 in a set FOR ONLY €60, a saving of €25%, which is just incredible value!

4. Tomitago at the Tower

  1. Cleansing Oil – melts away every scrap of make up and impurities. Gentle enough to use on eyes but tough enough to remove even Inglot Gel Liner. Suitable for all skin types, even oily, because oil attracts oil, whcih means it will actually lift excess oil away from your skin
  2. Combi – doubles as your mask and exfoliator and will leave your skin softer, brighter and more radiant. It reduces congestion and blackheads but at the same time reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Allows your moisturiser penetrate deeper and work more effectively.
  3. Elixir – often referred to as The 5-in-1 Miracle Elixir because it is simply a gem of a product and is an absolute must have. It works as a primer, serum, eye cream, day and night cream. It eliminates the need to buy a lot of different products and perfect for people who don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to their skincare routine. It’s total skin food that plumps fine lines, nourishes, soothes, protects and will have your skin glowing from within. It will have your foundation applying like a dream!

2. Tomitago Launch

I had 3 main tables set up – Take Me, Try Me and Buy Me. The “Take Me” Table was full of the Tomitago Body Scrubs for the guests to take away. The “Try Me” Table had all the products laid out for people to sample and then the “Buy Me” Table, was where people could ask me any questions about the products, ask skincare advice as well as book in for a facial.

7. Tomitago Launch

I had asked Louise to say a few words at the event and share her story of how Tomitago began. Louise was a beauty therapist for many years, then went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry begoing going on do law for 6 years! Louise loves to keep challenging herself, which is why she is qualified in many things! Tomitago is a combination of all three!

The company came about three years ago, when she sadly lost the greatest man in her life, her Dad. She had also met a man with four very bad toes and they were about to be amputated. Louise had asked him if she could go away and have a little think on how she could help! She researched and she studied Ancient Indian Practices, the Red Indian Practices in particular. And then, she made a jar of cream on the saucepan on the cooker!!!

Amazingly, the jar of cream cured his feet. Louise has the paper work, consultant reports and photographic evidence to prove it. At that time, Louise thought to herself, “If that jar of cream can regenerate the cells in his toes, it can surely regenerate the cells on my face.” If there’s one thing Louise doesn’t like it’s wrinkles, so she went back to the sauce pan to add an anti-aging element and tweaked it a little bit.

4. TOMITAGO Launch

She decided to turn the grief that she had for her Dad dying into something special. Her Dad was always very proud of her when she worked and had always said, “She’s better than any man, that girl, and would come back from nothing.” So Louise decided, “You know what Dad, I’m going to do it one more time for you.”

Tommy O’Neill was Louise’s Dad and Plantago is an ancient herb used by the Red Indians, she combined the two and so the name TOMITAGO was born!!! Louise no longer uses a saucepan but she does work tirelessly to produce one of the best chemical free ranges out there!

The ethos of the company is that, “not one single product will go out that isn’t perfect, it is only the best and freshest ingredients that go into these products.” Louise strongly believes that, “Every single woman has a right to be beautiful and I don’t distinguish between the rich and the poor. I don’t believe that age determines your beauty, and I don’t believe money determines your beauty.” Louise went from being a housewife in Pilltown, cooking up her miracle creams in saucepan on her cooker to now running one of the best Irish skincare ranges and I could not be happier we have it in Re>Nu Treatment Rooms.

I cannot thank Louise enough for sharing her incredible story, I cried when she spoke of her Dad, along with a lot of other people in the room. I have no doubt that he is looking down on Louise and is so proud of everything his beautiful daughter has created, achieved and done. Louise is one of the most inspirational people I have ever met, and is a true example of how if you work hard and never give up you, you will get there. Her determination, drive and work ethic is phenomenal and here’s wishing Louise all the success in the world!
